William D. Lum

Father Lum pleaded guilty in 1997 to third-degree sexual abuse. He reportedly admitted to touching the genitals of a minor boy in the rectory if Our Lady of Mercy Church in 1992 and was granted a “conditional discharge.” Lum was said to have been placed on leave in the 1990s and had worked in an administrative capacity in the diocesan tribunal office until he was removed from that position n 2002, according to the Associated Press. In 2012, Lum was included on the list the Diocese published of priests who had been removed from ministry since 2002. Lum was apparently assigned to a life of prayer and penance.
