John Harrington
Ordained: 1945
Monsignor Harrington was publicly named for the first time in 2017, as victims who have received settlements have spoken out, according to the New York Times. He was reportedly the director of family services for New York Catholic Charities before being named the Vicar of Rockland County in 1996. Harrington’s obituary in 2009 stated that he began his ministry as pastor at Our Lady of Victory Church in Mount Vernon and that he was “[v]ery interested in the religious education of youth.” The obituary further noted that Harrington “always taught religion to children in both the parish and public schools.”
