William A. Lorenz

Father Lorenz reportedly resigned as pastor of St. Joseph Church in Oneida in 2002. A lawsuit in 2002 not only accused Lorenz of sexual abuse, but further alleged that the Diocese breached a 1993 settlement with the victim by allowing Lorenz to return to ministry. It has been reported that the Diocese sent Lorenz to St. Luke Institute in 1993 and that experts there had cleared him to return to ministry. The lawsuit accused Lorenz of beginning a sexual relationship with the woman while he was a guidance counselor at the former Oswego Catholic High School in 1970.
