Robert V. Lott
Ordained: 1965
In the early 1990s, Father Lott was confronted by a man who alleged he was sexually abused by Lott in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a minor. Lott allegedly invited the boy for sleepovers at the rectory after the boy’s father died. Lott is accused of sexually abusing him more than 50 times between 1975 and 1985. The boy, now an adult, asserts that Lott, who was the pastor of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Manhattan, told him: “You know, I always cared very deeply for you, and I never meant to hurt you.”
