Patrick Sexton

Father Sexton was accused of sexual misconduct in a 2001 lawsuit that alleged Sexton sexually abused a boy at St. Cecilia’s Church in Brooklyn. Two other individuals had also raised similar allegations against Sexton. It has been reported that Sexton may have undergone psychological counseling as early as 1983 following an abuse complaint. The Diocese of Brooklyn has confirmed that Sexton was removed from active ministry in 2004 and was ultimately laicized in 2011.
