Joseph L. Theisen (Thiesen)

Father Theisen has been accused of sexually abusing multiple individuals. The Archdiocese allegedly received at least one allegation of abuse against Theisen in 1987, when Theisen was at St. Raymond’s in the Bronx.  In 1994, the Archdiocese reached a settlement with three men who alleged that they were abuse by Theisen in the early 1980s.  Each man was allegedly paid $20,000 and promised not to talk publicly about what happened.  Theisen was reportedly laicized.
