James C. Hayes

Ordained: 1965

Father Hayes was ordained in 1965. He was removed from his position as Community General Hospital Chaplain in 2002 following allegations of past sexual abuse. The allegation is said to have been reported in 1990 and Hayes apparently was sent to St. Luke Institute for evaluation and treatment. Hayes served multiple parishes, including Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Warners, Holy Family Church in Fulton, and St. John the Baptist Church in Syracuse. Father Hayes was permanently removed from active ministry in 2003.
