Catholic Priest

Frank J. Capellupo

Ordained: 1975

Capellupo was arrested in 2000 following sexual abuse allegations against him. He was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on charges of sodomy, sexual abuse, harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child. Newsday previously reported that Bishop Thomas Daily was informed of Capellupo’s “late-night parties with teenage boys” at the rectory, specifically that Father Capellupo held parties for the boys in the rectory at Most Precious Blood Parish in Long Island City. In 2005, the Diocese of Brooklyn announced that an allegation of sexual misconduct with a minor against Capellupo was found to be credible.  He was laicized in 2012 and died in 2017.
