Edward Pipala
Ordained: 1966
Father Pipala is accused of sexually abusing at least 50 boys during the time he served as a priest. Pipala was allegedly sent for treatment in the 1970s after a mother of a teenage student told Archdiocesan officials that Pipala had sexually abused her son at Moore Catholic High School in Staten Island, where Pipala was teaching. Following his treatment, Pipala was reassigned multiple times and served parishes in Monroe and Goshen, where he is accused to have sexually abused many boys. Pipala was convicted in 1993 of sodomy and sex abuse and reportedly served between 7-8 years in prison. He was ultimately laicized, according to USA Today.
