Martlock was placed on leave in 1994 after being accused of sexually abusing a minor boy in approximately the mid-1970s. As the Buffalo Times reported, the chancellor of the Buffalo Catholic Diocese confirmed that Father Martlock was placed on “medical leave” after “an allegation of inappropriate behavior was brought to the attention of the diocese.”
